Kombat Taekwondo appoints Dmitrii Lian, a 7th Dan ITF Black Belt and president of UTF-ITF Russia, as National President to strengthen its presence across Europe and Eurasia.
Kombat Taekwondo continues its rapid global expansion with the official appointment of Mr. Dmitrii Lian as National President of Kombat Taekwondo Russia. A distinguished 7th Dan ITF Black Belt, Mr. Lian currently serves as President of UTF-ITF Russia, leading a federation of more than 2,000 athletes. Widely respected for his leadership and technical expertise, he brings significant experience in developing athletes and managing large-scale Taekwondo programs.
Rick W. Shin, President of Kombat Taekwondo, stated that Russia has long been a powerhouse in martial arts and this appointment represents an important step in their global expansion strategy.
Kombat Taekwondo operates a fully integrated structure of amateur and professional competitions, creating a direct pathway for athletes to progress from national-level participation to international championships and professional title belt events. Now active in 124 countries, the organization has emerged as the world's largest professional Taekwondo league, uniting practitioners from all major styles including WT, ITF, and traditional Taekwondo.
Under Lian's leadership, Kombat Taekwondo Russia will focus on expanding national competitions, developing licensed athletes and officials, and positioning Russian fighters on the international stage through Kombat's global events and ranking system.
