Professional Taekwondo Federation Costa Rica and Kombat Taekwondo Costa Rica announce the first-ever jointly hosted national championships scheduled for September 19, 2026, at Olympic Villa.
SAN JOSÉ, Costa Rica — Professional Taekwondo Federation Costa Rica and Kombat Taekwondo Costa Rica are proud to officially announce the first-ever jointly hosted national championships between both organizations, scheduled for September 19, 2026, at Olympic Villa in Costa Rica.
The event will feature the highly anticipated KT NATIONAL SERIES 2026 and CAMPEONATO NACIONAL ITF. This landmark championship represents a major step forward for the growth and unification of professional and traditional Taekwondo in Costa Rica. Athletes from across the country are expected to compete in a full day of elite-level action featuring high-level sparring, technical excellence, and true competitive spirit.
The event is being led by Pablo Solano, President of KT Costa Rica and current Kombat Taekwondo World Champion, alongside Edward Diaz, President of PTF Costa Rica.
Competitors will battle for national recognition, rankings, and opportunities within the growing global networks of PTF and Kombat Taekwondo.
"This event represents an important milestone for Costa Rica and the continued expansion of PTF and Kombat Taekwondo throughout Latin America," said Rick W. Shin. "We are proud to see leaders and athletes coming together under one platform to help grow the future of Taekwondo."
